As a licensed clinical psychologist, I help people of all ages learn more effective coping skills to deal with a variety of psychological and interpersonal problems in everyday life. I specialize in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy (CBT), which is based on the concept that a person's feelings and behaviors are determined by their thoughts and interpretations of life events. Some examples of skills you may learn in therapy include identifying and challenging negative thoughts, learning relaxation techniques, changing ineffective behavior patterns, and practicing assertive communication. People often find that having a supportive person to talk to - with a different perspective than their own - can be quite helpful. I try to address the "whole person" and use a variety of approaches to best fit each individual's needs. Because emotional health and physical health are interconnected, dealing with stress and other difficult situations more effectively can enhance your overall happiness and well-being. I enjoy working with people on their goals and seeing positive changes that they are able to make in their lives through psychotherapy.

In addition to psychotherapy, I provide various types of psychological assessments, such as bariatric surgery evaluations and intelligence testing for entry into advanced/accelerated school programs.
I have been providing professional psychological services in various capacities for over 15 years in the tri-cities area. Prior to going into private practice, I have worked in outpatient and inpatient mental health agencies as well as hospital settings. I have also consulted with area pain clinics, diabetic treatment programs, and school districts for testing and therapy needs.
